Bloodline trusts

February 14, 2017

We have received a number of queries about establishing a trust which makes sure that capital and income of a specific trust can only be passed to a person’s natural heirs and related entities.  The usual wide range of general beneficiaries such as spouses and extended family members are excluded.
These types of trusts are used to ensure that the property and assets will remain with the “blood relatives” of the initial nominated trust beneficiary and to make sure that a spouse can never be a beneficiary.
A bloodline trust is really just a trust that has a very limited and defined set of beneficiaries.
